As much as I wan everyone to be happie during the wedding preparation, I myself is hurt. The disadvantage I had is I do not have a mother to be with me throughout my wedding preparation. I feel very alone, very tired, and very very very very helpless..

Today, I'm not happie, and I cried. I miss my mother terribly at this moment. If she is around with me, I will feel safer. At least, I feel safer, not like now.. I'm all alone.

I want wedding preparation to be a happie one... no quarrels, no arguments, no conflicts..

I am really not happie, but I have to act to be happie....

mother, i miss you.... terribly...

My Guo Da Li (03-Jan-09 prep and 04-Jan-2009 actual day)

Phew! Finally my Guo Da Li is over....
Below are some pics of my prep for Guo Da Li and actual day scene... Actual Day no much photos taken, because 98% is video down... will select some scene for my video montage on my Wedding dinner... those who are attending my Wedding Dinner, have "yan fu" le... because I'm the director on that day... haha... will post up the video clip in you tube after my wedding dinner..

03-Jan-09 (Sat)... prep for guo da li the next day...
(at Hubby's parents house)

the 12 cans of pig leg...

Hubby preparing ang pow for the ceremony... They say must put one ang pow in each compartment, to show to the bride's family that if the groom miss out something to send over, the money in the ang pow will act as a compensation.... something like this la...

The "bing tang" and the "biscuit"

All the items are pack in bags of 2. This is to allow popo to return 50% of whatever Hubby send over easily...

2 bottles of Martell. This is put at the most bottom of the "guo da li" basket.
with one ang pow acting as "compensation"

the "mian xian".... everything that goes over to popo house must be paste with the "xi xi" sticker

Oranges waiting eagerly to go into the basket with the "BIG ANG POW"

and here it goes.... the "lead" of the actual day.... the big ang pow!

Finally done after a few "hoo ha"

After the "packing" of the guo da li items, hubby and father in law sit down and do some final arrangment of dinner seating plan. This is forever the biggest headache in wedding planning. We are expecting another change 5 days before our wedding...

Mother in law looking curiously...

Finally the Guo Da Li Day!!! (04-Jan-09)
We arrives at Hubby parent's house at 8.30am (We are supposed to arrive at popo house at 8.30am... haha...)

Final check through and tydying up...

Ready!

I cannot remember what Hubby is trying to pass to me....

My revised wedding cakes....

We had decided to change our Wedding Cakes at the VERY VERY VERY last minutes because father in law suggested a cake shop to us who knws very well about a traditional chinese wedding.. We seek alot of advises on Guo Da Li there and Hubby parents decided to get the cakes from this cake shop. They comes with a set of those basket and items for Guo Da Li.. Another one stop shop..... I had called Choz to cancel the cakes previously ordered, UNWILLINGLy... but it's ok... I just wan everyone to be happie in our Wedding Preparation... No quarrels... Only give and take...
After the guo da li, we went to many of our relatives house to give out the cakes....my da gu, my da jiu ma etc.... When we ended up at our Da Jiu Ma house, she decided to give us one of her artpiece (a DIY painting...) I will post this painting up when i got it from her...
After that, we went to meet up our Emcees at Chinatown point Swenson for a round up of what they are supposed to do on tat day. We decided to make a special entrance for our emcees that day... Please be there if you had received our invitation card. Something simple, yet different...
I love the process of my wedding preparation... but I am really tired....
ok.. dats all for today... still haven't get my ang pow box...

2 down for sisters on actual day

2 of my sisters down (Fion and Dawn) on my actual day. Reason: They need to go school that day... I had totally forgotten that they are still student! Haha..

Anyway, I will still do with it with my 4 other sisters... as much as I dun like "4" to appear in my wedding, I was left with no choice because it's too last minute to get any new replacement...

Anyway I'm really blur... haha... How can I forgot it's a Friday and they are schooling... haiz...

Bought all the things needed for guo da li on Christmas Day

Finally my hubby and I had bought all the things needed for our Guo Da Li.. we went to a shop at Jurong West (Recommended by my best buddy -- Ing).. The lady in the shop is very good.. She helps to pack everything and advises us what to do with each things.. We went with a "zero idea on what to buy and do" and came out from her shop on "80%" idea on what to do and buy... She is really FANTASTIC.. and oh ya.. She had a very cute puppy called Coco... Really super adorable.. :)

After buying the things, we went up to my Grandma house to put my side's thing, coz the lady say cannot bring to other place to put.. That is the first time my hubby's parents went up to visit my Grandma.. My Grandma told me that she had also went around Bukit Timah to search for my wedding things... haha... luckily we never buy duplicate.. if not really waste of money...

Amount of Money i spent on Jurong West Wedding Shop:

Bride's side preparation: around SGD 240
Groom's side preparation + an chuang things: around SGD 80
Total: around SGD 320+

After leaving my grandma house, we went to Sheng Shiong and bought 12 cans of "pig leg".. very expensive... each is around SGD 4 .. after buying, we went to my hubby's parents house to do some preparation..

What we do at hubby's parents house:
  1. Paste the "shuang xi" sticker on 2 Martell, 12 cans of "pig leg"
  2. Put aside things needed for An Chuang and guo da li...

Below are some of the pictures taken at my PIL house:

Our "long feng zhu"

Plate bought at the Jurong West shop... this is for the an chuang.. (Still short of some other food items)

We will be going down to his parents house tomorrow to do some more purchase and ordering on some food items...
I knw I'm going to miss these preparation days when my Wedding is over...

Wedding is tiring... but happie!~!
